I REMEMBER

I REMEMBER

A viking ship burning brightly in a lake of tears,
A knight’s final journey on the shoulders of his peers,
A queen walking slowly with her consort (won a war all by herself),
An Arab horn forgotten, gathering dust upon a shelf,
No rose petal jam, no mirrored boxes made for buyin’,
Yet somewhere in the world today still beats the heart of a lion.
